Mortal Kombat 1 or 2 (both pretty good)
Sonic Triple Trouble (Excellent game)
Chakan The Forever Man (brilliant action/platform)
Outrun
Fantastic Dizzy (awesome but v rare!)

Can't remember any others at the moment but I also have Sonic 1, 2, Drift, Chaos and I think Spinball too... all of which are good. I have Primal Rage but that's pretty god awful if I'm honest lol
Mortal Kombat 1 & 2 - I hesitate to get either one of these mainly because they (I would assume) would just be watered down versions of their console counterparts.

Sonic Triple Trouble - Meh, as stated above, not a big Sonic fan.

Chakan the Forever Man - I already own it on the Genesis.

Outrun - I may get this one.

Fantastic Dizzy - Never heard of it, looks pretty interesting. Only one on eBay for about $50. Might be better off just getting the Genesis version.

yeah the only difference is a lot of the 8 bit versions were decidely different from the 16 bit ones... up to you mate but Triple Trouble was by far the best Sonic Game on the Game Gear. Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 yeah I admit they are some what stripped down, not quite as many characters or whatnot and not much blood either, but MK1 had a blood code which was always fun to input lol I'd be interested to hear other peoples reccomendations as I wouldn't mind picking up a few quality titles for my gg

Definitely pick up Defenders of Oasis if you don't already have it. It's in my top five favorite games ever. Awesome RPG! I've played through it three times.

Just picked up these two:

Desert Speedtrap starring Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote
Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya

Haven't received Speedtrap yet (Not even sure what it is but I saw it on eBay and got it pretty cheap) but I'm enjoying Shining Force so far.

I must admit I can't picture an RPG on the Game Gear, is it in English? Probably didn't come out in the PAL region!! Can you save in it or anything? I'm trying to remember a really awesome Ren And Stimpy game I had and a Simpsons one, I think it was something of the shaven yack?? Might go on ebay in a few months and go nuts lol

English - Check
PAL - Check (It doesn't really matter though since the GG is region free)
Saving - Check

The game you are trying to remember is Ren and Stimpy: Quest for the Shaven Yak.

cool, I actually have the Gearoid for my Android phone and I tried out Defenders Of Oasis, I must admit it didn't look like I was expecting, apart from the fact that I don't think the rom works lol I think I was expecting a J RPG or something like Phantasy Star IV.... I'm really stuck on what stuff to try on Game Gear, so many 3rd rate ports and movie tie ins, I just don't know I can justify the expenditure when my Game Gears simply don't work too well, the sound is a bit naff, the screen is no longer very bright either. Actually I might break all three of them out tonight to see how they go...

Yeah, Defenders of Oasis is a GG exclusive. It's a much different theme than most other RGPs. From Wikipedia:

"The setting and plot draw heavily from Zoroastrianism, Mesopotamian mythology and The Book of One Thousand and One Nights, particularly the stories of Sindbad the Sailor, Aladdin, and Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves."

My GG was having problems with the screen as well. Washed out, color bleeding, etc... I repaired it a while ago by replacing most of the capacitors inside. It looks almost new now (aside from the scratches on the screen of course). It's not too hard if you have some soldering experience and about $8 US for the parts. Otherwise, you may be able to find a GG with new capacitors already installed on eBay. This is a common problem as there was a batch of bad capacitors going around when the GG was released.

highly doubt I'd be able to do that... I don't even know what a capacitor is! I mean I've watched Back To The Future but other than that, its way above my head lol (Flux Capacitor.... I crack me up lol) I will just have to have a look round and see what I can find

Haha  I don't think a flux capacitor is exactly what you need, unless of course you want a time travelling Game Gear lol. At least you know what to look for now though. If a seller says they replaced the capacitors then you know the screen and sound will work good.
