Haha, I bought a copy of Headhunter. The case looked fairly pristine, and then I gingerly took the disc out to play it, and one of the teeth from the center holding the disc in popped out along with it

lol Yeah, that happens to me all the time Another thing that happens all too often, is when I have friends over for a gaming session: someone walks over to the games cabinet, chooses a game and then tries to open it. The confused look on their face is always the same - something like W....T....F Just before they attempt anything, I fly over, like a madd ass, to grab said game, thinking to myself " I'll do it myself, just avoid disaster". And, yep, I fuck it up myself. The hinge cracks, the teeth fall out, the whole thing disintegrates in front of a full house. Very embarrassing

At least in Pal land, the white label's sometimes come in these cool clamshell cases made of a softer plastic. I've never had any problems with them and Sega could have done worse to adopt them as the Dreamcast cases for all regions.
