yeah thats my set up too is DCHDMI
seems like one of the most confusing things in terms of compatibility between disc versions, but also what hardware people are using
found this from citrus3000psi on reddit:
"The VGA version of Hydro thunder is broken on all HDMI outputs. It jumps from 525 and 526 lines. There might be a fix for the DCHDMI at some point with a hack.
The 15Khz (480i) version works fine on the DCHDMI and VGA boxes."
Sounds like we're SOL... I would love to see a 480p version of this one day, and it seems like someone with some set up may be able to but not any time soon for us DCHDMI-ers.
The VGA mode being 'broken' might explain why there is no concrete answer on this game with compatibility. Oh well
