is it possible to add the ability to quickly cycle through .VMU images in the specific gameid folder when the game is launched such as PSO like you would do on a 4 page memory card for people who have multiple characters?
i know i can press the F-Key and try to move between them but it would be super nice if i could just give it a quick press or quick double press to change to the next .VMU file in that folder :) navigating with the F-Key is not a nice experience :)

or perhaps a simpler solution would be to have it remember the last .VMU image you had mounted for the game you load up? that would be a good option.

Sure. I think that storing the last .VMU on each game folder would be the best solution to go.
I will implement this feature and have it ready in no time..

i really appreciate that, it's gonna make playing pso and other games that have one save per vmu so much easier thank you.
it will be nice having it remember which character in pso i played last and remount it rather than me having to remount it each time again, after it mounts the first one :D

also forgot to ask, i vaguely remember someone saying (maybe you) it was going to create a file in each folder named after the game so we instantly knew what each vmu contained, but i don't see anything like that so when i hook the sd card upto the pc, i don't know what is what.
i tried hooking the vm2 upto the pc via usb-c and dump a vmu from the sd card via the software and it kept just getting to maybe 70% then said i was in stream only mode when i wasn't, which meant to backup my vmu's i had to hook up the sd card to the pc, which is easier said than done given how difficult it is to remove.

i know it tells you in software the name of each but given i had issues exporting them via software and couldn't seem to figure out a way to import my vmu dumps, it would be nice if you had a blank file with no extension telling you the name of each game, and have your software/vm2 just not show anything with no extension that way people have multiple ways of seeing what's what.
thanks.

it would just be nice to have a simple solution like that so that information is right there, especially for people who don't know that exists, also that is not a list of every dreamcast game.
there will be games, especially indie games which won't be on that list.

The VM2 does create a file with the game title - but this applies for the automatic detection with GDEmu + OpenMenu. The general automatic detection (GameID) works differently, so this cannot be applied.
If a game is not in the list, then the GameID doesn't work (unless I add support for a game via a firmware update).
Only OpenMenu gives absolute flexibility to this and 100% coverage.
Now, the fact that the GUI fails for you, is what bothers me most. There have been a couple similar cases (only 2~3) having the same issue. I have tested the GUI on 5 different PCs and everything's working fine to me. There might be a detail, relative to your PC (OS, drivers, etc.) that's causing it.
So, since the GUI gives you all the tools to easily manage your uSD, I would suggest on focusing to solve this issue instead.
Please, let's transfer this in private, so we can discuss things until a fix is found.

@chrisvcpp, don't mean to be a bother but do you have any idea when there will be more VM2 stock available? I'm itching to buy one, and I don't wanna spend all my money on an OSSC if the VM2 will be in stock soon. 😅

Also curious if the custom controller faceplates will be made available separately from the DreamConn S.
