Typing 192.168.1.1 sends me to a username and password prompt.

Didn't work. I couldn't make the first character less than 1, so I tried just leaving it blank.

I hate to say this, but I think I'm out of ideas. There is something not right about your connection bridge. Dreamcast and your router are both setup correctly and you can access your PC. However there is no traffic between your wireless and wired connections. All I can say is make sure you have everything bridged properly, otherwise I'm really unsure what the problem is here.

What a shame. Are we sure it's not a permissions issue? I don't suppose there's any other way to go about connecting this in my scenario then.

Could you do me one more favour, and tell me; can you confirm, judging by the ping tests, that both my router and BBA are functional? Keep in mind that these tests were performed in the command prompt, rather than the router configuration pages.

Anyway, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support. I know you put a lot of time and effort into helping me with this, and I'm sorry I was unable to produce results.

Honestly I think the best way to go about doing it is to use a wireless client bridge. Unfortunately devices which are designed specifically to do this are quite expensive. So what you do instead is get some old router like a linksys wrt54g or anything else that works with dd-wrt and use that to turn your router into a wireless client bridge. Also in that case you aren't sharing the wireless between your PC and dreamcast. What you were trying to do on your PC should have worked, but I'm not sure what the issue is here. I was able to do this using linux a couple years ago.

I'll keep my eyes open for a new router.

Of course. If you sent a ping to Dreamcast from your PC and got a response that means there is network activity between dreamcast and your PC and BBA is working. Though just connecting to your PC does not give you internet. What you need is for it to be bridged to your wireless to access your landlords router and thus the internet.

Thanks. Seems like such a silly, insignificant issue, and yet it gums up the whole works. At least now I know I didn't spend $190 on a broken hunk of plastic.
