Dreamcast Fan Check

Is there anyway to bypass the check for the fan on the dream cast. It requires the fan to boot to games but I want to remove it and put in a different fan. I have no experience with dreamcast programming but Im wondering if anyone here does and has figured out a way to bypass system checks

There was a topic over at Assembler about replacing the fan that contained instructions to bypass the check, if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, the forum is still offline.
