Volgarr The Viking Image Quality Issue

Hi guys,

Need some help on my burned game Volgarr The Viking.

I downloaded the latest CDI file from the Volgarr website for Dreamcast. I burned the CDI file with ImgBurn with the required Dreamcast drivers. When burning the game the program told me that 8x was not possible because my optical drive only supported from 16x onwards. After burning the game I popped it in my Dreamcast and the image showed stripes...

Could this be because of the quality of the CD-R I used? Or the 16x write? Because when I play a regular official Dreamcast game I don't have any issue at all.

its not what you did, also 16x or even 32x is fine.

I’ve never seen anything like that before. Check the video cable connections.

Does it do this with other games?

What country are you in and what region is your Dreamcast?

Video cable connection should be fine because my other games run perfectly, although those are official Dreamcast GD-Rom games. I'm in NL and have a PAL Dreamcast.

Could be a 50hz issue. The games runs great on my North American model.

I think that is indeed the issue. It's the 50/60hz difference here in PAL countries. Does that mean there is no option to play this game? I also have a Gekko setup towards my TV that gives me 480P/60hz.

It's fixed guys. It was indeed the 50/60 hz problem and with my Gekko setup got it finally to work . Thanks for the help guys!
