Quake 3 Arena Online Help
I'm trying to get connected to the DC-Talk Q3A server with my Broadband adapter. When I try to enter the IP address of the server [67.163.183.83:27960], it lets me enter the "67.163.183.83" part, but not the ":27960" part. Afterwards, it connects very quickly, but when it is trying to get the game list, it gives me an error message saying "Disconnected from internet." Then it brings me back to the main menu. What should I do to get this working?

Sorry, I'm not sure what the problem is. You should be able to see our server in the master list. You shouldn't have to type in the server ip to get to it. But you say your are getting disconnected at the master list? Does pso work for you online? Are your DNS fields 0.0.0.0?

Re: Quake 3 Arena Online Help
Okay, I'm trying with the "Username", "Password", and every other field blank [for the addresses, "0.0.0.0"]. It gets stuck at the "Logging In..." phase of connecting, whereas when I typed in the IP of the DC-Talk server manually, it passed this phase in 1 second. Yes, I can successfully get on DC-Talk's PSO server... with the custom-made autoconnect disc.
EDIT: It seems that after the "Logging In" phase goes for 2 minutes, it gives me an error message saying "No Protocols", and does not finish the connection phase.

Re: Quake 3 Arena Online Help
Doesn't anybody know what the problem might be? I really want to play this game online. Can anybody just give me a guide of what a person normally does to get connected?

Maybe I'm just using a bad version. What version is everyone here using?

the only one that will still go online is the US version. so if you are using the PAL version you need to get the US one.lisalover1 wrote:Maybe I'm just using a bad version. What version is everyone here using?

Re: Quake 3 Arena Online Help
I got a bit further this time. I entered my home network's Subnet Mask and Default Gateway manually. Now the server list screen doesn't give me the "Disconnected From Internet" error. Instead, it either gives me a " No response from master server" error, or a "No Servers Found" error. This is still with the DC-Talk server IP entered manually. If it's not entered manually, the connection hangs at the "Logging In" phase, and eventually gives me the "No Protocols" error.

Re: Quake 3 Arena Online Help
you can only enter an IP like the following after you have connected to the internet. (67.163.183.83:27960) so i don't think you are suppose to put a quake IP in at all. you probably should be using your internet connections IP. how is the Dreamcast connected to you ISP? are you running the cat5e from your broadband modem strait into the DC? or do you have the cat5 coming from the back of a router?

Re: Quake 3 Arena Online Help
I have a cat5 cable connected to a multi-ethernet splitter, which uses another cat5 cable to go to the main router.
How do I get a new static IP for my Dreamcast?
EDIT: Now it's giving me the same "Disconnected from internet" error again.
I'd still like to know how to give my DC an unused new static IP.
