GDEMU not working

Struggling to get a GDEMU clone to work v5.5 (2018-04-25)
Tried it on two PAL dreamcasts and 3 or 4 different cards. Formatted to fat32 and eiter 32kb/64kb blocks.
I am using a VGA box (if it matters?)
It gets stuck at the Dreamcast logo for a few minutes then at the checking disk message.
With the full size 32gb sandisk SD card I get a red LED, with the others I see a blue LED flash for a split second when powered on.
Tried it without any card in it also, no luck.
Is it a dud?

Do you have a folder 01 with an image? Do you have a GDEMU.INI file?

List the names and brands of the SD cards you are using. Some unfortunately do not work with them.

I used the SD Card Maker, so the folders and files are there. I also tried different cards: SanDisk Ultra microSDHC in different sizes, Samsung Evo+ MicroSDHC, Verbatim SD-Card (2GB), Kingston SD, Lexar SD... had no luck with any of them :-/
