im going to play devils advocate a bit here. they have supported the PS2 way longer than what was expected of them.

I'm shocked about the ps3 slim, period. Sept 1 release date. wow. And the price isn't bad. Might be a good move for Sony.
Gary_b, I'm also surprised how long they supported the PS2. Props to them. I wish Sega could have done the same. With rumors about Sony not making another, I wonder how long they will support the PS3.
My extremely uneducated guess would be 2012. I used to own a PS1 for a few months. That motorcycle game was awesome and the Spongebob game was good (I was like 7!) but I didn't have a memory card . Since then the only Sony product I have is a VCR I found at Goodwill and Metal Gear Solid (To use with Bleemcast.)
You pour waffle batter into the disc slot. You come back when steaming stops, press eject and vola! A delicious waffle. Way more entertaining and advanced than the PS3s main functions...
