Hi all, sorry if this is the wrong bit to post this but I couldn't think of a better section...
Is there a modded version of Sega Rally 2 out there that boots with the 30FPS code already entered? It's an ok game but it's a bit dull having to enter the code every time I want to play it
30fps mod? Do you mean 60fps? Don't think there's really much need for a mod either way. If you want 30fps, play the US/PAL version and if you want 60fps, play the JP version.
No, I mean there's a code you put in at the main screen that locks the game to 30fps otherwise it's kind of all over the place (it gets noticably choppier going into turns). I'd rather have a steady 30fps than 60fps some of the time (and only when the console can manage it). I wondered if there was a modded cdi out there that has the 30fps lock coded into it, sort of like widescreen hacks or music mods. I don't even know if it's possible!
Ignore my first post. I was under the impression that only the Japanese version ran at 60fps and the US and PAL versions ran at 30fps by default. The confusion stems from the fact that there's a "60fps code" which actually doesn't change the framerate at all, it just removes background elements so that the game runs smoother.

That would be great actually, i use the code to lock it down to 30fps every time i play it too. Im not keen on the 60fps code as it looses alot of details, i didnt really like sega rally 2 back in the day because of how choppy it was until i found out about the codes and since then its become my fav racing game on the dc. Like u say its a bit of an annoyance having to enter the code each and every time
Taking a look at the Dreamcast version side by side with the Model 3
