Yeah.. I'm going to be honest.. when Dreamcast was around and mil-cd images started to appear online.
I was pirating Echelon and KalistiOS releases big time.
But I was just a 15 yo youngster with a CD burner back then.
Now I'll gladly pay for a nice new game, especially if it's a Dreamcast release.
So guys.. don't be lame. Just buy the goddamn indie games and support the creators.
If not, then you should have your balls removed with a rusty butter-knife!!

Thanks Ian, this is spot on!
People who pirate / steal our games don't seem to understand that they are massively damaging the DC homebrew/indie scene.
We're not Microsoft or Sony with lots of money to burn, and even pirating their games is just plain wrong.
If you don't have any money, save it until you have enough to buy the game.
If you don't want to spend any money, then don't be a d*ck and don't steal the game.
If you want to "test" the game before buying it, kindly ask the devs to release a demo.
There is literally no justification to pirate DC homebrew/indie games!

To quote the great "Weird" Al Yankovic (with a few word substitutions):
"Once in a while maybe you will feel the urge
To break international copyright law
By downloading Dreamcast indie games from file sharing sites
Like Morpheus or Grokster or LimeWire or KaZaA
But deep in your heart you know the guilt would drive you mad
And the shame would leave a permanent scar
'Cause you start out stealing Dreamcast indie games, and then you're robbing liquor stores
And selling crack and running over school kids with your car"

I fully agree, one thing I will say though: devs need to work more closely with distributors around the globe.
Eg: Shadow Gangs is made in Europe but sent to Europe from a shop in the UK…so I get to pay another 23 euros while it’s a European game to begin with.
I don’t approve, but I can also understand why folks pirate stuff…

Any post-Sega Dreamcast life cycle release should be bought or left alone...pretty simple. Those devs are not exactly running around with zillions of dollars.
Ethics... don't steal from others.

Funding a kickstarter project gets money up front for the dev team on a major release and gets the ball rolling. The publisher and resellers get most hurt financially when new indie titles are pirated instead of bought.

Not all games have kickstarters postal did not.. Not always them getting the most hurt.. Every one gets hurt You know why dan quit so that hurt us all losing another dev ..MoeFoh wrote:Funding a kickstarter project gets money up front for the dev team on a major release and gets the ball rolling. With out the dev's there not much point of a publisher..
We all get hurt as new dev's see the problem and move on to more respectful secure scene..
Dont worry i have things that stop this happing
