Possible to run OpenMenu on USB-GDROM?

Post by twistedsymphony »

I've got a GDEMU running on one of my Dreamcasts and it's setup perfectly the way I want it with Open Menu and all of the games I want on the system.

I have a VA0 Dreamcast with a USB-GDROM I'd love to run OpenMenu on that. Even better if there's a way to port the whole SD Card from my GDEMU over to a Flash Drive for my USB-GDROM.

I've been searching around and I've not see any information about running OpenMenu on a USB-GDROM. I'm not sure if that's because it's not possible or no one has tried, or maybe it just works so one one has even asked about it.

Both openMenu and GDmenu talk to the GDEMU's API in order to launch games. Stock openMenu/GDmenu cannot magically work on USB-GDROM. This is a fact.

Furthermore, Mnemo has not opened or documented any such API for USB-GDROM, and he likely never will. No custom menu software can exist without first having that information (either by documentation or serious reverse-engineering).

Thanks for the clarification on that. I didn't realize these menus relied on an ODE API to function.
