Re: NEW DREAMSHELL SD ISO MODULE
This looks great. I do need a little bit of education here;
Fact:
I only see "Port A" of the Dreamcast connected and I see the SD Drive with a thin wire from the back.
Questions:
Is the SD Drive connected to the serial port in the back of the Dreamcast? If true, where do you get one of these cables?

Re: NEW DREAMSHELL SD ISO MODULE
Ok, having it made is not a problem being I have a DC serial cable. I could take the 9-pin Sub-D PC serial port end of the connector and wire a USB to 9-pin Sub-D connector. This way I would have to not "hack-up" any cables. My company actually has USB to serial adapters for Smart Boards from Canada to get around the distance limitations of yet another digital "f-up" (USB).
I did find out that it was the serial port of the Dreamcast.

Re: NEW DREAMSHELL SD ISO MODULE
Yes that's correct dobs. There are 1 or 2 ways you can do this.
1. Buy a serial adapter and the parts needed to connect the SD Hub to the cable.
&
2. You could just go to this site below and follow the translated directions on how to remove your serial adapter port, and then just solder the connections straight to the Mother board.

I would love to have option 2, since it would basically be an internal solid state hard drive. But this requires gutting part of your system.

Re: NEW DREAMSHELL SD ISO MODULE
There was another, much simpler, way to add a serial port to the Dreamcast. Unfortunately though I just checked and the Japanese website where the instructions were on how to do it is no longer online.
This is still really interesting to see though.
Hey Bob, are you possibly referring to Lava?
Edit:
