Hello friends,
I'm currently working on a new English patch version for this awesome game (yes, 2 years after the previous patch

).
What's new in this version ? An (almost) fully translated DP3 browser with the original site integrated, with all DLCs included, a few textures changes, VMU filenames fix, etc.
I hope to reach v1.0 but there's still a few things I'm working on. If people can help, that would be great!
To summarize:
- Can be improved - A lot of google translation for the site, if someone with a good level of English can take a look and correct mistakes..
- Done - How to change the game logo at startup (1st_read I guess?)
- Can be improved - Love Love keywords, this one is tricky (1st_read)
- Done - Hack the protection, the game is too big for a CDI (definitively a game you want to play on original hardware)
I will create a new post for each point with more details later.
It's Thinking...

Heeeeeeeeeeell yes, my friend. I grew up playing Samba de Amigo version 2000 with my buddies, literally my all-time favorite dance-rhythm game, so I'm a huge fan of your translation work. People have no idea what they're missing, if they haven't experienced this game, and especially v2000.
This sounds very awesome. I'm always afraid of especially the DLC files disappearing from the internet eventually!

Regarding the browser, you can use my version here if you want. It has support for VMU icons, is fully in English, etc.
viewtopic.php?f=52&t=14611#p151960
The icons are all embedded in the game executable, so I pulled one out that you can use for the browser.
I figured this one would work well...
You can download the raw 8bpp graphic data for this icon here...
SDA2000_BROWSER_VMU_ICO.BIN

To save you some time, I've gone ahead and zipped up my modified DP browser with the screensaver disabled, the initial VMU save/load screen skipped (totally unnecessary), and a custom VMU icon (the one shown above). By the way, without the icon, Dream Passport simply displays nothing on the VMU by default. There are HTML tags you can use to display text on it (even with some effects, like scrolling), but I think the icon is nicer!

I don't understand.
This is the title screen I see when I boot up the v0.9.1 English translation patch. What needs to be changed?

What protection are you referring to? How does that relate to downsampling content so it fits on a CD-R? The v0.9.1 English patch has a CDI version, so you can easily use that as your base for a CDI release.

Thanks for the feedback. To avoid misunderstandings, I'll detailed each issue, starting with the VMU Logo:
- VMU Logo replacement -
When you start the game, the VMU displays the game logo. I'd like to change it like the one on the previous game.
I didn't find a specific file for that, so I guess it's in the 1st_read. Any idea if it's possible and how to do it ?

Did you see this screenshot from my post (
viewtopic.php?p=192538#p192538)? I'm guessing not. It shows how you can find these icons, including the exact settings to use in Crystal Tile 2.
I also provided a link to guidance on replacing the icon for my modified DP browser. However, the same 11 steps can be followed (more or less) for other VMU icons in the game executable:
viewtopic.php?f=52&t=14611#p151960
The only real difference is that you can copy/paste the icons directly out of Crystal Tile 2 and into an image editor of your choice, then save 1ST_READ.BIN.

@ateam: I wasn't sure we were talking about the same logo (I know you can change the logo of VMU savegame).
I'll take a look, thanks
- Site translation -
Here's the translated version of the official website.
I did my best, but clearly, my English level is meh at best
If someone wants to play the teacher and correct mistakes, you're more than welcome.
The pages are in the SAMBA folder (~40 pages). Don't worry, they're not very big.
You can simply open page per page in your browser, edit the .html file content and give me the .zip file back.
I'll do the merge and check if everything is OK.
A backup of the japanese site, if you want to compare with original texts (+ page translation)
http://backup.segakore.fr/samba.dricas. ... /Index.htm
If you like the game, maybe you'll even learn 1 or 2 things

You're welcome.
In my screenshot, you can see all of the VMU icons.

Always very excited to see a samba de amigo project.
And more, your work is awesome, thanks also to @pitito and @ateam, you are always great men.
A great thing to do if it's possible easily is to add or build a second version with the Wii musics.

There is some sort of protection. IIRC that's why I had to use the old Echelon release as base for the CDI that I once shared here:
viewtopic.php?t=16404. A fresh, own CDI build just didn't work.
