New online Dreamcast VMU icon editor.

Robert Dale Smith (of ControllerAdapter.com) has just released a brand-new online VMU icon editor.

• Import/Edit/Generate ICONDATA_VMS files 100% in the browser. (all front-end, no backend)
• Import and extract color icons from existing game save files (.VMS, .DCI, or .DCM)
• Import most image formats with automatic resize and color reduction (4-bit RGBA, 16-color palette)
• Custom 4-bit color picker with alpha channel. (transparency)
• Color and monochrome 32x32 pixel drawing canvases with color palette selector.
• Easy color to monochrome color palette toggle tool.
• Custom file description string. (16 characters)
• Dreamcast BIOS Menu 3D mode enabler. (press start in DC bios for 3d mode)
• Generates zip file containing VMS, VMI, preview.gif, color.bmp, and mono.bmp files.
• Stores generated icon history in local storage.

Love to see it already being put to good use. It was way more complicated than it needed to be before this tool. Kind of blows my mind that I was able to do this in all javascript.

I can't remember if it was possible with previous tools but I think this might be the first way to do transparent pixels on VMU icons. I made some new icons with transparency available for download on dcvmuicons.net, if anyone has a DreamPi and Dreamcast Web Browser.

I'm at work presently, but can I use the BBA with a Dreamcast Web Browser? I've only played PSO online with my BBA and hadn't had the curiosity to try browsing.

Yep you can use XDP web browser or Planet web 3.0. there are some others but I can't remember them
