I was in a band with a guy that ran an import video game store when the DC launched in Japan. I got mine within a week and played the hell out of VF3:TB, got Sonic Adventure when it dropped in December '98, and then Sega Rally 2 the next month. I've still got my original console, which I used long after the US release and just used the Utopia boot disc to play NA games.
I've got a pretty large collection from back in the day still including the JA releases I started with. Looking forward to touching base with fellow Sega fans!

Hey, welcome to the board. As an english-speaking board, we don't get many with the perspective of the Japanese market from back in the day. Super cool.
Just a side note, it's a personal interest of mine and several members around here about the online experience. If you remember playing online, or still have your old saves for online games, we would love to hear about it.
