Paprium for Dreamcast?

Post by k-do »

Hello everyone! Would it be possible to run Paprium on a Megadrive emulator for Dreamcast?

It would be ideal if WaterMelon Co would give it a native port as they did for Pier Solar.
kamui.cool/ - web content for DC.

The damn game was supposed to be ported to DC from the last Kickstarter. Probably never going to happen at this point though. People are still waiting for their Genesis copies from the original print run.

As of now it only runs on a specific retroarc core as the game has specialized chips in it.

What happened recently that allowed the game to be emulated? Was source code leaked or custom chips documented.

If you have source code, that provides a path for a native port, if emulated we would need to know sort of additional chips and if they are needed for gameplay, or just a security measure.

I'm not entirely sure but I know people have been working on this since it came out to decap the chips and hack it. read somewhere that the FPGA on the cart was there just to decode the mp3 soundtrack and nothing more.

I chucked some money at the DC port back in 2021... possibly. I'd genuinely forgotten all about the fact it wasn't released 2 years ago, till this popped up the other day. I can honestly see Fonzie pulling all of the planned KS stuff now it's been cracked. it'd be very on-brand for him.
