VGA box...
I've been looking at vga boxes and some of them go for like $150 and some go for like $30. Does expensive price mean better quality video? OR are they all the same quality?

Re: VGA box...
the video in theory should all be the same. it should all be 640x480 for pc monitors, also known as 480p for televisions. the quality of the actual hardware might not all be the same though. a cheaper box/cord may not last as long. also i notice that some of the higher end ones have composite or s-video outputs as well as VGA. you just switch between the one you want. the cheaper ones tend to only have VGA and a jack for audio.

Re: VGA box...
I just got a $30 one from eBay (retrobits I think), by "just" I mean "2:00 today". I plugged the VGA into my monitor and got nice display and sound. Mine has a switch for S-video and RCA out on one side and VGA and 3.5mm audio on the other.
Right now the problem is that the 19" monitor is pixel-quadrupling everything so the DC thinks is 640x480 but the human eye just sees big blocks....

Re: VGA box...
hmm. my CRT PC monitor is 20 inches and almost all the games looked great on it. well the ones that look bad on a tv dont look better over VGA, they just look clearer. so if the games graphics are flawed you will see it easier. some games look awesome on it though. the VGA box does wonders for Quake 3.ScDreamX wrote:Right now the problem is that the 19" monitor is pixel-quadrupling everything so the DC thinks is 640x480 but the human eye just sees big blocks....
