Blue Stinger Opinions?

Post by pcwzrd13 »

So I just ordered a copy of Blue Stinger and would like to know what ya'll think of it. I've heard mixed reviews, some like it and others hate it. It seems the main reason some don't like it is because of the camera and controls. Are they really that bad? What's your opinion? Love it? Hate it?

Yeah they are that bad. It pisses you off so much at times that you want to rip it out and break it, throw it out the window into a trashcan and burn it.

Its a good game when you really look at it, but the controls and camera make it horrid, that's why i call it blue stinker. if it wasn't for the controls and camera it would be a great game. You can overlook the Cheesy aspects of the game rather easily, but the controls and camera you can not.

I have it and beat it.

I played it years ago, can't remember much about it but I know I enjoyed playing it.

It's almost like Sega could have made the game themselves. The overall look of the game is Sega through and through. It's painted from a colourful palette which gives the whole game a less than realistic appearance - first and foremost it looks like a videogame(I mean that in a good way ;) ).

The characters are mostly cartoon-like and suitably cheesy, it's not a 'gritty' game and it's not very scary for a survival horror game. But I liked the story and the gameplay is quite varied and interesting, the game is littered with videogame references - even Sonic gets a nod.

The controls are a lot easier than some other games in the genre - I'm looking at you RE lol Still not ideal but I wouldn't let them put you off playing it. It's not like it's impossible to play or anything like that.

All in all a pretty good romp and very enjoyable. I'm gonna play again soon.

It may be but my opinion but the controls in RE are far better and far easier then blue stingers controls. You didnt have to fight the controls in RE, in Blue stinger you do. your constantly fighting the controls and camera views in blue stinger.

Well, looks like that's one hate and one like so far. I really do hope the controls aren't that bad because it looks like a really good game. It's one of the many unique/quirky games on the Dreamcast.

I don't really hate the game, Its enjoyable from the odd story alone. Its just having to fight the controls and camera which makes the game very frustrating in many areas, hell even walking around can be a PITA at times. its a borderline must play and avoid just due to the controls and camera. you will see when you get it. I am more along the lines of undecided I don't hate it but don't love it either.
