Isn't the ipod equivalent to the dreamcast if not slightly weaker than the dreamcast in specifications wise ? I seen a few games running on the "i" platforms and maybe theres ways to get some games ported to the dreamcast if we can get access to some Sources.
besides my favorite game just got on the iphone .... DEAD SPACE

that game compared to the PC version has been changed drastically in gameplay, effects, graphics.

iPhone/pod/pad equivalent to Dreamcast
Lol, the latest IPod is way more high-spec than the DC ! And the IPhone 4S has like a dual core processor running at least eight times the speed of the Hitachi chip in DC plus the IPhone has way waaaay more RAM than the DC.
I don't want to put a damper on your idea though
. The older iPhone 3G and 3GS models had games made for them that could conceivably have been on Dreamcast as the specs were much more DC-like.

Re: iPhone/pod/pad equivalent to Dreamcast
I don't think the dreamcast is anywhere near as powerful as an iphone. I think the only real similarity is that the original iphone (not sure about the new ones) had a newer generation version of the PowerVR chipset that was present in the dreamcast. (Someone correct me if i'm wrong, i'm not to good on this technical stuff).
Although i'm pretty sure the indie game 'Irides' was a port of the iphone game 'blocks^2', so maybe there is hope for some of the iphone games that don't really push the system to get ported if someone could be bothered.
But hey, i'd be happy to get ports of old nokia games if it keeps the DC alive

Yeah, the Apple Iphone 4S still uses PowerVR technology: a dual core PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU.Family Dog wrote:I don't think the dreamcast is anywhere near as powerful as an iphone. I totally agree there are older phone games that could be ported over. I had some great games on my five year old Sony 810i phone which I'd love to see on DC.

Re: iPhone/pod/pad equivalent to Dreamcast
I wonder how we could make that happen ? replicas? and such theres like a few android games, iphone3GS can run some games that play on the 4S. i mean that dead space has been downscaled so much in that video of game play it looks like it can be upscaled for the dreamcast.Neohound wrote:Yeah, the Apple Iphone 4S still uses PowerVR technology: a dual core PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU.Family Dog wrote:I don't think the dreamcast is anywhere near as powerful as an iphone.
