How do I transfer saves from my PC to my VMU?

How do I transfer saves from my PC to my VMU?

I'm trying to use VMU Tool aka Dream Explorer. I have the DC connected to my PC via the broadband adapter, but when I select "Open PC" on VMU Tool I get this message:

"You must connect your PC to your Dreamcast with a coder's cable or a BBA, and launch Dream Explorer's binary with DC Load + DC Tool."

I have no clue what this means. What are DC Load and DC Tool? I also have the PC program "VMU TOOL PC" which I assume is needed to transfer saves, right? Someone please help me! :?

No, unfortunately. Thanks replying, though.

Anyway... I ended up getting the file I wanted by downloading it directly to the VMU with the Dream Passport web browser.

Now I regret making this thread, because someone might have the same problem, and find this thread hoping for a solution. Oops... :oops:

Also isnt there a 40.00 piece of eqp you can just hook up to pc and VMU and drag and drop saves? I swear I just saw this on ebay a few days ago too...

Here's the quick and dirty:

You need to get the dcload-ip disc: http://www.boob.co.uk/files/dcload-ip-1 ... ggler3.zip

This sets your DC's IP address to 192.168.0.4 and allows binary files to be sent to the dreamcast from a PC.

Get the binary of VMU Tool: http://bswirl.kitsunet.org/vmutool/rele ... g=en&menu=

Get DC-Tool GUI: http://sizious.emunova.net/download/?idsys=2&idcat=2

Setup DC-Tool with your DC's IP address, and the default folder you want the DC to access (for backing up your saves to)

Send the VMU Tool binary to the Dreamcast. VMU tool will load, and you will be able to take full advantage of the PC backup mode.

Use a Dreamshell and run VMU backup from DC-Swat http://www.dc-swat.ru/page/dreamshell/ or Retrodream https://dragoncity17.wordpress.com/2020 ... etrodream/ and then open a BIN file in VMU Explorer by SPEUD.
Easy way : buy a Brook Windgman SD adapter with latest firmware- https://www.brookaccessory.com/download/Dreamcast/
