New Dreamcast, graphic problems?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this board. I recently purchased a Dreamcast via ebay after not having played one for about 10 years now, and as a huge Sega fan, I'm very excited.

I've bought several games, some I remember playing years ago and others I only heard about. I picked up Shenmue, Bomberman, Zombie Revenge, Cannon Spike, Carrier, Maken X, Super Magnetic Neo, Chu Chu Rocket and several other titles.

I also picked up a little game called Seaman, which I remember reading about in Gaming magazines years ago when it first came out but never got around to trying it. I've been looking forward to playing this one more than any other so I eagerly plugged in my memory card and microphone, popped in the disc and the title screen came up as Leonard Nimoy began talking. Everything was looking fine up to this point but sadly that was all about to change.

After Mr. Nimoy finished and the game saved and began, the screen went almost completely black. I could make out what appeared to be bubbles scrolling up the screen and a blurry greenish/blue line across the upper part of the tv. I also could hear the sound of water and could see my hand cursor perfectly and move it around. I opened up the menu with L trigger, dropped in the egg, and could still see nothing.

I then cranked up the brightness on my tv and could see a little more and finally discovered the light function of the tank. I flipped it on and could now see the tank in its entirety. The problem being that it didn't look right at all. The water was a hazy brown color and I couldn't really make out the objects inside the tank.

I have no idea what the issue could be, all my other games play just fine. But this also doesn't seem like it would be an issue with the cd-rom itself.

Does anyone know what could possibly be the issue with this? I've searched everywhere online and have found no such issues.

I'll attach images to help better show what exactly it looks like.

looks fine to me, you just start out with an old tank with dirty water

Wow, you're right. Just watched some videos of people starting new games haha. I feel pretty stupid now, but very much relieved that everything is fine. Thanks for replying
