Fishing Rod Motion Sensors

Post by TuxTheWise »

Hello guys.

I bought a brand-new official Dreamcast fishing rod, and I have a question about the motion sensors.

Some places say the motion sensors work for up-down, and other places say they work for the 4 directions.

I tried it with Sega Marine Fishing and Sega Bass Fishing. I noticed the motion sensors work OK for "launching the bait" (I have no idea about what's the correct term in English :p), and it has some reaction when I shake it back, but I didn't notice any reaction when shaking it left and right.

In the games, sometimes they say "turn the rod left" but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with the motion.

I was wondering if my rod is working OK, and if there is any way to test it.

Thanks!

Yeah, that one too, although I wouldn't exactly call it "controlling" the game

Still you get to pull off insane combos you simply cannot do with a joystick or pad

I read the manuals of Sega Marine Fishing and Sega Bass Fishing, and it looks like the only motion they support are "down-up" and "up-down", although SBF seems to recognize when the rod is left and right inclined.

It seems like my controller is working fine. Thanks.
