PC-DC WinVista/Linux help

Post by respectforretro »

Hi this is my first post to this website and I was hoping for some help. I have gotten a PC-DC server to work with my Zoom 56k modem, I can browse the web and play most games but I can't seem to get online with Planet RIng and Q3A. I know that the games need a dial tone as they can't utilize the blind dial feature but when I use my 77HP-G tone generator I still cant get it to work. So I'm curious if I'm doing something wrong or if I have the wrong equipment or something.

I havent tried the swap trick but i'd say leave the dial generator on long enough for the game to recognize it has a tone, then swap it and allow dial in on your pc (the killall mgetty command). The dc dials for a pretty long time before it times out. But again i've never tried thats my best guess

Hm... I've been experimenting with the timing but I still cant get planet ring to work. Just to make things a bit clearer in case you didn't understand, I have a triplex adapter so I can put 3 phone cords in at once and I have a 77hp-g tone generator. I still can't get it to work for whatever reason.
