Hello, my name is Jordan and I'm a brand new dreamer : ). I'm a genderfluid 19 year old and I'm big into retro games. I got Final Fantasy VII some time around when I was 15 and I fell in love with retro games. I started collecting PS1 games and I have a fairly decent collection of them. Soon I moved on to get a NES, then later a N64, and I have a few games for each of them, but only a few of the bigger titles. I've looked into a lot of game consoles and video games to find the most interesting ones, and I became fascinated with a lot of titles for the Sega systems, such as WARP's titles (D, Enemy Zero, D2), Ecco, Panzer Dragoon, Phantasy Star, and some others that peaked my interest. So, just yesterday I bought a Sega Dreamcast and my first two games (Crazy Taxi and Jet Grind Radio). I've also watched a lot of youtube videos by AdamKoralik and I just find Sega's consoles to be so innovative, with their pioneering of CDs, Online Gaming, Parallel Processors, Controller with mini-screen, and all of of the other cooler things they did with the Saturn and Dreamcast that just didn't catch on so much. I'm really excited to start expanding my library and to check out the still thriving community, as I'd really be interested in playing an online game (like Phantasy Star Online maybe) and/or getting a brand new Dreamcast game sometime in the future here.
Also while I'm at it I'm also curious about what games anyone might recommend, as I know there's a lot of interesting games on the DC and it's hard to decide where to start. I'm more interesting in seeing a game try something new than do something perfect, and I can forgive minimal story if there's interesting gameplay and I can forgive so-so gameplay if there's an interesting story.
I really like rpg games that are a little different from the standard formula in terms of gameplay and/or story like Grandia, Lunar, Chrono (Trigger and Cross), Vagrant Story, and Parasite Eve. Particularly unique gameplay is something I really enjoy, even if it doesn't quite work if it's different and unusual I enjoy it a lot. I also like a lot of survival horror titles, like Resident Evil (1-3), Silent Hill (1-4), Fear Effect, and such. Any suggestions for some games I might like would be real appreciated, hope to dream a little deeper!
