Hi, I REALLY want a Dreamcast, what exclusive games are good
Hey, I just became a member and got here from a youtuber named Adam Koralik that suggested in his Dreamcast overview video that anybody interested in the Dreamcast (me) should check out this website. I have always been interested in the Dreamcast but never had the balls to buy one. I currently own a Xbox One (piece of crap I don't care what anyone says), a Xbox 360, OUYA, PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, N64, and a Atari 2600. Another question is I don't know if I should get a Saturn or a Dreamcast. I usually like open world games like GTA and well done FPS's (not COD they suck). But my favorite genre is RACING, I don't know why but I love the nature of a well done racing game. So anyway would love to know any exclusive racing games or cool shooters. Yes, I would get Shenmue and Sonic Adventure if I had a Dreamcast.

Re: Hi, I REALLY want a Dreamcast, what exclusive games are
Over the years more and more title's got ported over to other systems and/or got new editions on other platforms. So there are hardly any exclusive Dreamcast racing games left where you can't play a better port or new installment for on a other system. However I believe these racers are definitely worth your while:
F355 Challenge
If you have a Logitech steering wheel for PS2, then go for the PS2 version, if not the Dreamcast version is the way to go thanks to the VGA-support (4:3 only!) This is a F355 racing simulator, with a very high difficulty standard.
Crazy Taxi
This is the definitive version with original sound track, so forget about the ports of this one. Timeless classic in my opinion.
Daytona USA 2001
This one is debatable, seeing that it's basically the arcade original with higher poly models. If you rather play this game with arcade-visuals go for the PSN/XBLA re-release, otherwise go for the 2001 Dreamcast version.
Hydro Thunder
Hands down this is the best arcade port out there of this title, however XBLA (Hydro Thunder Paradise) got a very nice remake of this title with HD graphics. So this comes down to personal preference.
Rush Rush Rally Racing
This is an amazing indie developed top-down 2D racing game, easy to play hard to master. (also available as a WiiWare downloadable with 16:9 support, supposedly Dreamcast version has better quality sound track)
Re-Volt
Definitive console version.

Also, for your safety, one Dreamcast racing game to avoid at all costs:Wombat wrote:Over the years more and more title's got ported over to other systems and/or got new editions on other platforms. Try toy racer. Don't forget to pick up a BBA .
If you're thinking Saturn instead, The Saturn is a great place to start. Huge library. Tons of great games.

Re: Hi, I REALLY want a Dreamcast, what exclusive games are
I honestly didn't even see it coming either. I was thinking it would be another Rush 2049. Instead I got pure crap. I think it's as bad as it is to me because I wasn't expecting it to be that bad. It was the second game I bought when I started collecting again to, so It's especially loathsome for that reason. Presentation is a 6. Control is a 1, sound is a 2 graphics are a 4 and I image it's one of few games that would look better through a standard connection rather than VGA. It's pathetic.hudsthinking1999 wrote:So that's why it was on the back of my Spirit of Speed 1937 manual...FinedrivE wrote:Avoid Vanishing Point. It's just awful. No way around it.
I could get past all that if it controlled well. It doesn't though. It feels less like driving and more like suggesting maybe even hoping. "I suggest you go right". "I hope the insane physics don't cause my car to flip when I tap this wall".
It's bad. Just bad. If anybody you know has this game and doesn't hate it they aren't human.
