Hey all,
I bought my second dreamcast last week, its broken. It doesnt power on.
I've taken apart the entire console, putting back the power circuit and switch. I've got a multi meter and have checked the fuse and switch for continuity - both of them are working fine I think.
But I cant seem to test how much power is going through the switch.
Does anyone know how this works? I notice the switch has a big blue, what I presume to be capacitor on it, which is labelled 240v. As the switch is a on/off type, am I correct in saying that when the switch is depressed (on) it is passing 240v through it to power the device?
Does anyone have any technical details surrounding the power supply of the dc?
The reason I'm doing this is to learn about micro electronics more, instead of just buying a new psu!
Thanks!!
