Are the Goat Store published games any good?

Post by FinedrivE »

Has anyone played any of those Goatstore games? I was looking at the bundle on the web site the other day and wondered wether any of them are any good? Feet of Fury looked entertaining and Cool Herders seemed like an ok idea. Just unsure of the actual gameplay. Any actual experience with these would be helpful.

Seriously? So if I say it is good that automatically means you'll like it too?

No. Not at all what I'm saying.

Merely trying to start a dialogue.

I've tried starting a dialogue on a YouTube page. It's been my experience that the comments on YouTube videos aren't very helpful. This could be the exception though.

I have Feet of Fury. It is a fun game for sure even if you don't have a dance pad. They are also publishing SLaVE (and I think Hypertension) and so far those games look a lot more like a Sega commercial release than homebrew. But the game quality is dependent on the developer. Goat Store is just the publisher in most cases afaik.

Cool deal.

I saw The Slave preorder and from what I've read and seen it does look a little more polished then the five in the bundle.

At the end of the official Dreamcast lifespan it was amazing too see new developments getting out there, so back then they were entertaining games for it's time. Now looking back, these games are just not on par with the newer indies and are quite basic. The only exception in this case is Feet of Fury, this title is still worth playing IF you're a DDR enthousiast.

My favorite of the lot is Irides which is basically a DC version of Lumines.

I concur with noiserdux.

I only have Irides and Feet of Fury (and SLaVE perordered) of the GOAT Store published games, but I really enjoy both. If the graphics of Irides were a little more flashy and a little more colorful, it could be easily mistaken for a Luminess title. and Feet of Fury could also be mistaken for a DDR game outside of its art.
