Netopia R2020 / Teltone TLS 3 connection problem

Post by Padre »

Hey everybody, I hope somebody can help... I've stuck many hours into this already and can't seem to get things up and running... I've watched the Netopia video countless times and have done all sorts of troubleshooting... I keep getting the same message...

I have Windows 10 running... the Telnet client is turned on, and my pc doesn't have Wi-Fi that would need to be turned off. I'm stuck and can't get any further in the process of connecting.

Please, if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it, I have all the games that are online capable and would love to be able to play them! :)

The Netopia may not be set to the default IP address of 192.168.1.1. Have you tried doing a hard reset?

So for some of you it may be necessary to do a hard reset of your netopia to get to back to factory default settings. I didn't have to do this, but I know some other people who followed this guide have needed to. For some reason there is no explanation in how to do this in the user manual and it isn't exactly straight forward so I'm gonna explain how you go about doing this.

You will need a metal paper clip first of all. Make sure your netopia is plugged in and powered on. Then what you want to do is flip it over and locate the slot in the picture below which is about halfway up.

Now insert your folded metal paperclip into the slot until you meet resistance. You will hear the router click if you have pressed the reset button properly. You will then be back to default settings.

No, I haven't tried to do a hard reset... I'm not sure I have any other option at this point...

What are my DNS servers? Should I enter the number from the dreampipe post instead? I've tried, but nothing seems to work... I've stuck at least another dozen hours into this since my last post, I'm also having trouble updating the firmware on my Netopia... I have version 4.10 and was hoping it would still work without having to update it since I'm having a very hard time with it...

Yes, that DNS server should be fine. I'm not sure if you'll be able to do this without updating the firmware. You can try but if you find some settings missing, you'll need to update the firmware.

I have stuck a ton more hours into trying to update the firmware but exhausted myself with it, no success... I bought a new copy of Planetweb 3.0, a broadband adapter, and I already have a legit copy of Codebreaker, and a new copy of Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 (US)... I've tried for about 5 hours so far, but have had no luck getting my Dreamcast online this way either. I'm really not sure what codes I should be using, I've tried to follow the online instructions here, but it still won't connect. This is exhausting... if anyone has had success in connecting online with these electronic ingredients, please send helpful hints if you can... thanks.

I'd like to get both Netopia/Teltone and Broadband connections running simultaneously in my home (in-house online!)... I'm not sure if anyone has been able to accomplish that on here... that's why I ended up getting the Broadband adapter as well as the Netopia...

I downloaded XDP7 to configure the broadband adapter, no luck... can't get online connection... I am unable to download the copy of XDP that contains 15rar files which is the newest one I believe... the copy I'm using is about off of another site and it might not be recent enough to work, there's Japanese in parts of the menus...
