Connection guide??? Where is it?

Post by sCI »

Hey all, I just got a lot of help from someone(who's supposed to be on this site) trying ot burn pso ver.2 PAL. I finally got it done, but now I need to get online.

He said to go to this site and use the guides to configure my dc for online and other things....

But I noticed one fatal error: Where and the heck are these supposed guides? I looked on all the online type pages, but all it has to say is "this is what you'll need to open the guides and cdi's with", and "this is what you'll need for a static IP", but nowhere does it say, "OK, here is the guide to do all this stuff". I would love to try this stuff on my own, but there isn't any info on how!?!

Can someone give me the link that supposedly exists? Or give me the how to?

Thank you very much.

Thanks a lot, that was what I was looking for.

But apparently I have the autoconnect disc, so I don't need the codebreaker.

But it mentions 2 things I still don't understand.

1) Do I still need to put stuff on a VMU (for some reason I still don't understand)?

2) This is the odd part that's really getting me. It says that I need to configure my DC for an ISP Am I right so far?

Then it says I'll need one of a few things to do that. I dowloaded "PlanetWeb 3.0 Web Browser". So I need to burn that to a CD?

Now, the confusing part to me, is that I thought it says you can do this with the US pso ver.2 instead of using the browsers or "XDP", but I don't know how to let me change the ISP, there is no screen that lets you change anything?

Is all this accurate, or am I getting something wrong?

Thank you.

The name of the file I dowloaded is : Planet_Web_3.0.mdf

It says it's format is unsupported, will it still burn and work in the DC, or do I have to do something further too it?

here use the one at this link http://dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtop ... f=22&t=631 that is the Google mod. it is basically the same thing. and best of all it's a .CDI. aka Discjuggler file extension.

Ohh, I used alcohol 120 for the pso, discjuggler was giving me trouble and the person helping at the time himself used alcohol, so I got that instead, and it worked like a charm. But that get really complicated.

I'll download it anyways. I'll just delete the other one.

Thanks for the response.

Alcohol 120% will work just fine for the Google mod. Alc 120 can handle .CDI's with out any trouble at all ;)

dangit, it's giving me trouble like last time, discjuggler sucks, and so does my ignorance!

Ok, I just burned with alcohol instead, it boots up....

It asks wether you want earthlink or your own ISP, so I click on your own, and it says I need these things
1.user login ID
2.user password
3.ISP phone number(s)
4.DMS addresses
5.email login ID
6.Email password
7.Email return address POP3 server name
8.SMTP server name
9.Proxy server(if applicable)

I remeber coming across a link that sadi how to make your own "static IP", but thats about all I know I've come across. The guides don't have step by step process that apparently I need. How do I get all this stuff and where. And most importantly, do I need all of that stuff?

Thanks a lot all.

But it requires a vmu with at least 80 mem blocks, why?
ignore that, you won't need a VMU to change the internet settings
