Gamecube PSO Episode I&II
Does anyone else play PSO on GC? If so, perhaps we could do some runs sometime

http://dcemulation.org/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=75 Might be best to ask about this on Sylverant's forum. They even have a dedicated topic for GameCube and Wii (via Devolution) players.

Re: Gamecube PSO Episode I&II
I have Gamecube PSO online, I'm a low level character, maybe around level 20 or so, was waiting till I got a keyboard to play more often, which I now have! I would be up for doing some runs sometime, especially Episode II because it's different scenery, lol

Re: Gamecube PSO Episode I&II
Be aware that playing Challenge mode on a real character can be dangerous on GC and mess up your character data. Techniques above level 15 can revert to level 15 if somebody uses a Disk with that Technique during a stage, thus forcing you to find another Disk in the real game to restore the Technique level you lost (which can be nearly impossible to do if you're a Force and Grants or Megid gets borked, especially).
Your material counter can also reset back to 0, thus allowing you to use extra materials to exceed your normal stat limits, and the only way to fix that bug is to revert to using a memory card backup or to remake your character.
As such, I recommend never playing Challenge with real characters on GC unless you have recent backups, as mules let you get S-Ranks just as easily with none of the risk.

That's good info to know. I'm playing with PSO plus, so hopefully that helps with any more weird glitches later down the line

Plus fixes many bugs from the regular US disc, but the problems with Challenge aren't among them. Plus is actually bad if you aren't using a Wii or Dolphin, because it prevents you from using the exploit that lets you back up your memory card as well as the exploit that lets you create weapon backups.

I've got both regular and plus versions actually... I'm on regular gamecube. I'm not interested in the exploits too much at all... maybe in the future it would be fun to mess with though. My character will load when using either disc so I wonder if I can just switch between the two should I need a weapon backup or whatever...

You can use the regular disc to make in-game backups of your weapons, but that isn't enough to safeguard your character data. You also have to load homebrew in order to copy your save files to your PC for safekeeping in case of bugs or hardware failure, and the longer you wait between backups, the less valuable they become.

Re: Gamecube PSO Episode I&II
I had GC PSO back in the day and played it online a few times via dialup, got to level 25 or so. I really want to get it again, can anyone tell me if the process to get it connected online via the Wii is easy or difficult?
