Unfortunately the OS for GDEMU isn't updated since 2021... i would like to fix some issues into the games list and covers but as it isn't updated, i still have the issues i discovered yeas ago :(
Please watch my video tutorial on openMenu, where you can achieve everything you're asking about :D

Also, please check the video description, not only for download links, but for other videos/links on how to make the most of openMenu (updated cheat database file, folder view, etc).

Just follow my tutorial. That's all you need. Nothing has to be thrown away. You don't need to touch any files on your SD card (assuming that it's already working with either gdMenu or openMenu right now).

I have GDEMUVersion 5.15b.
I have two sd cards. One has openmenu version 1.33 and the second one has the latest 2.0.1.
The problem is that the sd card with openmenu 1.33 is playing perfect and the other sd card with openmenu 2.0.1 is loading ok in menu but it cannot boot games.
I am so confused.
Is the newest version of Openmenu combatible with the GDEMU 5.15b or only with the newer versions of GD EMU????

The newest version is compatible with all GDEMU models. Make sure you are following the copying instructions properly. Sometimes when you paste a file in windows it might keep an old file.

I did again the same EXACTLY procedure with both versions of OpenMenu. The 1.33 is working fine and booting the games perfectly. The 2.0.1 version can't boot the games, it takes me to the original menu of Dreamcast.
So i'll stay with the OpenMenu Version 1.33.

Just for the records my Dreamcast console is the below version:
Type 4 (VA3) - MIL CD compatible (Not for GDEMU)
670-14071F ASAHI Electron (2001) normal DC

and indeed cannot read CDi games. I don't know if it has anything to do with it.
I have also a European Dreamcast which can read CDi games. I'll try on that console too. (Pfff i have to take the ladder and take it out of the closet  )

What video cables are you using and are you testing the same game? Some games are not compatible with vga cables and they will send you straight to the bios menu. Also the latest version of openmenu allows you to go to the bios by clicking one of the buttons. Are you clicking the correct button to start the game?

believe me it doesn't matter, he himself admitted that his DreamCast uses a BIOS that is not compatible with MIL-CD, which means that he does not have access to the latest version of openmenu and many games until he replaces his BIOS
