Thanks for the update. Feels nice to hear consistent updates about progress on this translation after many years of stops and starts.

That's my feeling, too. It's the same in my day job, you have to balance too many updates with regular updates. Regardless, no news = bad news.zandengoff wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 4:06 pm Thanks for the update. I know the translation is still a ways out, but can you share any progress that's been made in the last two months?

Re: New SEGAGAGA translation project in the works!
Sure! At this point, the patch is mostly in review, playtesting, and polish (you could say that we're in internal beta right now). I got through all the SIMEVT translations mentioned in my last post, that was quite a bear because there's a lot of variables and such to test, especially when you trigger certain events. Anyway, textures are done, MES files are done, videos are subbed and in-game, main binary is done. We recently brought on another playtester, one with fantastic knowledge of SGGG, and that has so far been very, very helpful in getting a fresh set of eyes on it and pointing out some polish areas.
One area in particular that needs some work is "NEGO" (as it's referred to in the game's files). This occurs when you beat an enemy, there's a chance you can negotiate with them and hire them onto your in-game development team. There's a question/response component where you can pick one of three responses, and based on the response, the likelihood of hiring the enemy as staff goes up. The responses tend to be a bit esoteric and humorous, so those need a good review to ensure they make sense to English speakers.
I've got a deadline in my head and it'll be out by then. I'm calling it the "25th Anniversary" patch for good reason.

As always, thanks goes to the heroes of the DC community for making this possible!
