Omikron - Nomad Soul is another title I've always meant to play, but have yet to set aside the time for. I dunno what's wrong with me, it's a cyber punk adventure, I'm sure I'd love it!

I actually remember getting quite far into that game, I wonder how it would look/if it works on VGA!? I'd be interested to play it again but if I remember correctly it kinda bored me after a while

I just popped nomad soul in to see how it looks in vga. didn't play it, but let the intro movie run & watched the demo afterwards
the intro is quite good actually, hi rez
the game demo obviously looks old & a bit blocky (rectangular arms & cubus like hands, like the old VF games; it was an ugly game on the pc to begin with). but what you see is very detailed. requires a massive 73 blocks save though...

I'm soo gonna play this one soon

was gonna say, I never bothered with the official one, I've got the big switching box that is clear, I had trouble fixing the VGA cable into the slot at first but it seems to work now and the picture on PSO is phenomenol, I Just leave my RGB scart plugged into the back of the tv so I can swap between the two. I can imagine it looks fairly dated now. Kinda wierd how some games on DC age worse than others huh

fair do's, I couldn't find an original one myself, found it a nightmare trying to find all official stuff, I'm gonna start selling some bits soon on ebay like rumble packs and vga box etc, all unofficial but all working fine, because I just amassed such a massive pile of crap that I can't wait to get rid of it, just waiting for a free listing weekend again lol

Someone once told me the Blaze VGA box was the one to get, apparently with the best picture and sound quality. Not sure how true that is but I bought one anyway and have been very happy with it. I got mine for ~ £25 off Ebay. I've also got an unbranded VGA lead which does the job adequately though you don't get the composite and S-Video sockets like you do with the boxes.

I'm a massive fan of Nomad Soul. Yes, the graphics are a bit dated compared to the best on Dc but that's not to say they are bad. The engine is actually very futuristic for it's time and the whole game has this incredible atmosphere. It's like playing through a sophisticated Sci-Fi movie along the lines of Blade Runner. The controls in some parts of the game are very poorly implemented and shows how rushed the port was(it took only a couple of months by a very small team to complete). It's a great Story though and everyone should play it I think.
