Sega Rally 2 and Sega GT, which regions to get?

I was messing around on youtube recently, and some videos I watched informed me that the JPN version of Sega Rally 2 has some different cars and weather effects than the US or Euro releases.

Then I heard later that the European version of Sega GT has a bunch of European cars that the US and JPN versions don't have.

Can anyone verify these differences? Which version of each game is the best to get for someone who has not played either game before, ever.

I think the version ur talking about was called sega gt homologation special.I think it was a few extra cars unlocked right off the bat for use with single session mode.But i never checked beyond that because the game bored me out of my mind.For sega gt I wouldnt know much except the Japanese version had some form of online play.

afaik the normal Japanese version of Sega GT is simply called Sega GT Homologation special.

thats the one though, it had more cars and more cars unlocked for single race mode than the american version.

EDIT: also I made a typo up there, I meant sega really 2 had online mode not sega gt.It was taken out for western release I guess.

I personally wouldn't recommend Sega GT. It gets pretty addictive but whenever you lose its because of bad control and that kind of ruins it for me

Get the US version of Sega Rally 2 if you want more cars and a 60 hz mode.

Sega GT is a pretty good game once you get to grips with the handling. But you might want to try the Bleemcast Gran Turismo to see how it really should be done.
