Sega loves distributing shit so much that they shall distribute Atlus' shit.
News and shit shall be at this link.
I was talking to a Sega insider and he shall be quoted as saying: "Sega shall never stop distributing shit. We love it. It shall provide us huge profit margins. We shall be putting Aliens Colonial Marines on discs. We shall be helping Atlus put shit on discs. WE SHALL LOVE DISCS!"

Re: Sega Continuing Physical Distribution
The topic name is a trick headline. SEGA will be distributing Atlus titles in Japan. Its no different from the SEGA/EA distribution deal last summer.
The properties are & will still be owned by Atlus.

Give it up dude, your new home console ain't gonna happen.ZachMorrisFGN wrote:stu/mulberry: thank you for your support of Sega. This shall truly lead to a ringorbi console to ray trace the competition out of existence.stu wrote:WOW! MOAR SHIT!! COOL!
This deal is one of the few good decisions SEGA has made this last decade.
Most of SEGA's games nowadays suck anyway. So I'd be happy to see them become the new Working Designs...

It only applies to Japan.elmagicochrisg wrote:Give it up dude, your new home console ain't gonna happen.ZachMorrisFGN wrote:stu/mulberry: thank you for your support of Sega. This shall truly lead to a ringorbi console to ray trace the competition out of existence.stu wrote:WOW! MOAR SHIT!! COOL!

Technically this doesn't mean SEGA will still be an optical multiplatform company. This is a mere loophole. The properties, licenses, development is STILL Atlus. Its not SEGA 's property, they'll receive little to no profit from it. All they'll do is distribute it like Coleco & Donkey Kong.
Plus this ain't any different then what they did in the Master System days *Cough* Double Dragon.

Am I missing something?...Here’s a bit of fuel for your game industry speculation engine: Sega have cut a deal with Atlus’ parent company Index Holdings, one which will see Sega take charge of distributing future packaged Atlus games worldwide, starting this April.
Now, before you go declaring that Shin Megami Tensei will inevitably be changed to Sonic Megami Tensei, keep in mind that this is just a distribution deal. The move stands to gain Atlus/Index access to Sega's extensive distribution network (including into Europe, where Atlus has no native presence), as well as gain Sega more diversity in its lineup.

It shall be important to also note that even if the deal was only for Japan, Sega shall still be distributing software in the disc format.
Re: Sega Continuing Physical Distribution
@ZachMorrisFGN. I would say that this & EA deal shows that SEGA is loopholing their way around multiplatforming distribution by distributing non SEGA properties for other publishers. While developing mostly digital IPs.
