All of a sudden it's decided that a bridged connection DOES need a default gateway, because it's appeared in the command prompt. Probably to do with that explorer crashing nonsense that I was mentioning earlier. What should I enter for this?

i think the eth gateway if there had to be one would be 192.168.1.1 (your landlords router)

Still stuck on the "contacting host" part, but to my surprise, I did receive a ping response from the Dreamcast. Could it be a permissions issue? Is it maybe possible that the issue is because I'm not able to receive internet from my landlord while the bridge is set up for static connecting? Perhaps, then, if I change my bridge to DHCP, and keep the router and Dreamcast static, I'll receive a connection?

If you are receiving response from dreamcast on your computer then everything with your router should be setup correctly. Try changing the dns on dreamcast to 192.168.1.1

Tried it. No dice. Should I be changing any settings on the Dreamcast other than the IP related ones?

try typing 192.168.1.1 in the dreamcast browser. It probably will not load correctly if it does work, but if it tries to load a page you know that dreamcast can access your landlords router and it is a dns issue only. Make sure wifi is connected when you do this.

"The URL is incorrect." Maybe it's only designed to connect to URLs with a .com or something of the sort.

You should have typed "http://192.168.1.1" into the dreamcast browser. If that didn't work then it means dreamcast is not able to access your landlords router. Again, the wifi would need to be connected for this to work so if you had it disconnected at the time it would also fail. If that is what you did then the problem lies with the connection settings on your PC. Either it is bridged wrong or the default gateway to your eth adapter is not what it should be.

Doesn't connect. So I've got the bridge configured like so:

IP: 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mast: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

...and the Dreamcast like so:

IP: 192.168.0.3
Subnet Mask. 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.2
DNS: 192.168.1.1

Is this all right?

Just to make sure your landlord doesn't have router management disabled over wifi, just try typing 192.168.1.1 in your web browser on your PC with wifi connected it should load some page. If it does then we know then DC is able to access your PC, but not beyond it. Then next try setting the default gateway on the PC eth to 0.0.0.0 and see if that changes anything.
