Trust me, once you get the jumping down it becomes as fluid as any technique used in the game and it just flows so well with the city design making you like the map a bit more as well. Completely agree though, a Z-trigger would kick ass for Crazy Jumps!

Agree completely. This makes sense considering the CT1 came to be first and foremost as an arcade game, where CT2 was geard for the home consumer market.rjay63 wrote:I would say both CT1 & CT2 are both as good as each other although CT1 is a little more immediate. Always had difficulty getting used to Crazy Taxi 2's jump function; longed for an N64 type controller with said button underneath the base.
N64 controller!?
Blasphemy!!!

The framerate itself is fairly smooth and fast, probably above 30fps most of the time. Unfortunately, most of the cars seem like they drive slowly, especially the truck vehicles and novelty vehicles like tiny motorcycles. But later on you unlock very fast cars like lamborghinis and formula 1s, and those do give much more of a feeling of speed. Another unfortunate aspect is the horizon pop-up that this game has, as it seems to have a much shorter vanishing point than some other racing games on DC, and there is virtually no attempt at hiding or minimizing the popup via fog or other technique. Nonetheless, if you can get over these quirks, the game can be good fun for awhile. I still enjoy picking it up from time to time and just racing around the different parts of the city, which are huge.pcwzrd13 wrote:I have yet to pick up a copy of that. The only thing that I don't like about it (from what I've seen in videos) is that it seems to run at a very low framerate. Either that or it's just plain slow like 4x4 Evolution.dark wrote:Anyone dig Super Runabout? Whatever your thoughts on the car handling and the missions, the recreation of big swathes of San Francisco in colorful graphics were pretty cool.

Never forget:crazycast2 wrote:Crazy Taxi 1. Better city and better music, although I spent a lot of time in Crazy Taxi 2 hitting that golf ball.

I like the jump-option in part two but imo part one overall "feels" far more fluid and polished.

Well, bad news about my copy of Crazy Taxi 2... It had a Blockbuster "Disc Shield" on the disc and it didn't survive the removal process.
Curse you Blockbuster! Curse you! I'll just have to find a disc only copy of the game now.

Ouuch! What a misfortunate waste. You should've kept it as is. I have Code Veronica 2 disc set that came in a lot. Both disc had that same crap, but I thought it would be a safer bet to leave it on.

Well, it's strange because I really didn't do much. I only soaked it in some Goo Gone overnight and when I checked on it in the morning, the disc was cracked in two places. I didn't even try to peal the disc shield off or anything like that. I thought I was being extremely careful but apparently not.CD AGES wrote:Ouuch! What a misfortunate waste. Wouldn't the integrity of the disc be at risk from such long exposure to that stuff???
Thought goo gone was some heafty stuff in its own right.
