Sound, but no picture after Utopia Boot Disc, only one game

Hello all of you,

I found my way here while researching for a problem that I have with my boot disc/Dreamcast.

I have been using a boot disc for... pretty much all my DC-life for several import games, never had a problem. Recently I bought another Japanese game that has been released as recently as 2004, i.e. a while after the end of the Dreamcast's life-cycle. With this game only, the boot disc does not work... Or rather just works half-way through. It will boot the game, but I have no picture of the game. I only hear sounds. I can klick through the menu of the game, I can hear it responding to me pushing buttons. But I just don't get any picture.

Therefore, I tried to burn myself a newer boot disc, using a tutorial from this website, and while the boot disc works, it still does not work with this one game.

So... Any suggestions? Does this look it will never work with the boot disc? Should I search for a DC-X? How high are the chances that might work? Or rather a Japanese Dreamcast?

Well... Thanks in advance for any feedback. Hope I didn't just through money out for nothing.

is your dreamcast set up with vga or av? what game are you trying boot up?

Connected via AV. I don't even know what the game is called, since it's Japanese. A friend of mine thought it might be funny to play that without understanding anything and see what happens. But it looks like an official release and it says (c)2004.

that game my not be combatible with a boot bc of it not being a gd rom? do u have any other dreamcast games that came out around that time?

The Utopia boot disc is not the best one, try to use DC-X or another one (search the forums a little to find other boot discs).

Or at least try a later Utopia boot disc version (the last version is v1.3 - v1.4 and v1.5 are fakes, equal to v1.3).

is the DC-X the same as the Gameshark? Gameshark is what Id use to load imports
