Actually that is not quite correct. They used the same bootstrap-server(kage/snap/KICS), but different gameservers.
AFAIK Propeller Arena also uses encryption, while Outtrigger does not.
im not a computer guru by any means but i have watched enough "24" episodes to know that encryption would make bringing it online a very hard task.

Thanks for the clarification petter3k and my apologies for the incorrect information guys :O Hopefully the encryption is something that can be worked around with.

The reason it was cancelled is because it had a level called Tower City or something akin to that, in a city with skyscrapers. They didn't release it due to that. All they had to do was remove that level and make a completely new one for the game, but they just didn't since it was a very sensitive time. This was the same reason USA never got an official light gun from Sega because of the Columbine massacre. I don't agree with either of those reasons but I understand fully why they did it.

Bringing it back is indeed alot harder with the encryption present. Hopefully, one day it will become online again :)
