Hi, I recently bought a NTSC dreamcast, I live in Australia. I'm of course using a voltage transformer and I'm able to get the dreamcast to turn on just fine, the light is on and the VMU makes that god awful BEEEEEP sound every time. My problem is that I can't seem to get it to display on my TV? I've tried using av and vga both to no avail, but the TV doesn't even seem to recognize my dreamcast at all I just get the 'no signal' message.
My TV is relatively modern and supports 50/60hz, all I can think of is that the av and vga cables are messed up but somehow I feel thats not the case.. I bought them both new and they look fine to me.
Any ideas?

Re: Trouble getting dreamcast to display on TV
I had this problem that others had (thus they told me what to do and it worked). What I did was unplug the power cable, then took off the top, tighten the inside screws near the AV port, cleaned the av port, then plug-in and turn-on... It worked for about two years (then it died once and for all)!
Try that first before performing a R.I.P. service on the DC. If that does not work, then I'd keep the dead one and get a second one (my advice is to never throw out a DC...the parts are easily interchangeable).

Re: Trouble getting dreamcast to display on TV
I found that my (US) TV will not accept the VGA signals from the Dreamcast (neither 15kHz nor 31kHz worked). I use an Atlona VGA->HDMI converter, which works well.
