DC/PC server via XP

Post by Jaseman »

We ALL know it is possible but I do not know how. I have a voice compatable modem inside my PC and my PC connects via Broadband. and I have a dc stock modem and a phone cord. I have all the materials. How would one connect to your servers (Lets say your autoconnect copy of PSO) with XP? I know it must be a pain in the neck but can anyone help me?

Everyone I know has done it through Win98SE or Linux. I've tried WinXP but failed.

linux is harder. if you want to set up a PC-DC server windows 98 or 98SE is your best and easiest option. i have mine set up on windows 98. i tried to use xp but failed as well.

I have a 98 but the problem is that the internet doesnt work on it. Ive tried to connect the modem to it and it doesnt work. and ive tried installing something wireless on it but it didnt support it.

you wouldnt want to use wireless anyway. if you have a linux machine then try the modem from that one. you will most likely need to buy a new modem anyway. most internal modems dont work for this. i got lucky with mine.

Jaseman, connecting to our servers would be the easy step after you figure out how to get the PC/DC server working. Have you tried following a guide such as this one? : http://www.maturion.de/dreamcast/mterlouw/
