Any recommended VGA cable?
Hi, I’m new to the Dreamcast. I was going to buy a Retro-bit VGA cable, but they appear all sold out. Is any cheap Dreamcast VGA cable good enough for games that support VGA or is there a specific cable I should buy or avoid?

Re: Any recommended VGA cable?
I think generally everybody recommends external box form to throw VGA as they're a lil more going on, I mean Sega's own VGA method is external box as well
I'm using Retro-bit box (CHEERS Anthony817), later on I got Beharbros' Toro, that the greatest picture for me if only it wasn't such shit fragile, no it no longer works for me and fuck scanlines fuck SCART I think ima gonna get their box minus those two functions
+ welcome

The bitfunx one looks quite good.

I have the Bitfunx HDMI cable which utilises the VGA signal, it works just fine.

Re: Any recommended VGA cable?
I've simply been using a generic VGA cable with mine, the connection on both ends is solid and there's zero ghosting in the image like I've seen with other vga cables. Only complaint is the dual RCA connectors for audio instead of a single 3.5mm jack.

Re: Any recommended VGA cable?
Performance VGA box all the way!!
It has the most solid build quality (this things built like a tank.. just look at it compared to a cheesy retrobit box.. ), it has the longest cable of any VGA box I've ever seen, features a vga pass through feature. Since Sega didn't sell their own VGA box in the states, I believe this was the only officially licensed third party VGA box. It even has the same design and color scheme of a DC- looks more official than Sega's own VGA box IMO. That being said and the fact that it was produced back when the DC was still relevant means the quality control is definitely there.
I think these things are extremely underrated..kind of like the Atlona HD500 which is only just now starting to gain popularity in the Dreamcast scene after all these years.

VGA cable is the only one that can support 480p and 240p, just need a compatible monitor!
Using a modern and current monitor.
Aliexpress cables are made with low quality wires showing shadows on the screen..
