Hi All, I have only recently discovered the joy of the Dreamcast after purchasing one online. Its the first sega I have owned since the Master system.
Please can someone give me a step by step guide to downloading Mame and roms to play on the DC.
I have a PAL Dreamcast as I am in New Zealand and use mac 0sx 10.5 as my comp.
Cheers Mike

Alright, well, first things first, I guess getting online.
You would have to either buy a BBA{broadband adapter} off
of ebay, which are very exspensive, and then get a network cable
to plug into it. Or, get a phone cord to plug into your Line
adapter of your DC. Also, you could set up a PC-DC connection.

Re: Help for a new Dreamcast user
the dc isn't made to play home burned games on a constant basis, it kills your lens in the long run.
why don't you just play mame on your pc, like everyone else (myself included)

Oh my. Mac user? I am too, but it is just about impossible to burn DC games on a Mac. I learned that the hard way. If you want some DC games, you need some CD-R's, and a decent PC with a free trial version of Discjuggler. It is (in my opinion) the easiest DC burner available.

utopia bootdisk, just google for it, you'll find a free download here or theremike_sheree wrote:Cool. Thanks for that guys. Is there anything that will allow me to play NTSC games on PAL like my gamecube freeloader?
or you can pick up something called the DC-X off ebay, for a few bucks, it allows you to play import and (this be the important part

providing you play on a monitor of course & if you don't, I highly recommend it, look for a vga box/cable & hook the dc up to a monitor, you'll never play on a tv again
vga is the way to play
