Some dreamcast games wont start on terraonion MODE

Hi there,

I have a japanese dreamcast with a terraonion MODE installed.

Since most games run well, I founde that some games didn't support RGB output, in fact for theese games I downloaded the patched version here on dreamcast talk.

Bu there are still some games witch wont start. In the specific Urban Chaos and NBA2k (I will probably find some others).

I tried both the PAL and US version of Urban Chaos, and both didn't work. I tried the CD version of the game, and for some reason it works. SO why Urban Chaos doesn't work in the GD format but works on CD format? How can I make htese games work on GD format?

Urban Chaos:
The GDI would require patching, which has been done for the CDI version.

I see, I didn't know so many dreamcast games have problems. So I'll just go with the CD version.

Try this test GDI, where I ported over the Asian/European console incompatibility patch to the GDI. I assume this also includes RGB support?

I have no idea if this works, so let me know! Using the Demul emulator, if I set my cable type to RGB, the original retail version of the game resets to BIOS. If I use the GDI above, it works, so it'd seem that you'll be good to go with this

If it doesn't, share with me the specific CDI you're using, which does work.

I tried again and it worked, and the game works grate on my japanese dreamcast with RGB.

Honestly, I really don't know what kind of crazy stuff you'll see with a JP console and the Western library. RGB patches are also something of a blindspot for me, as I've always used VGA (and now DCDigital).

I have no clue about NBA 2K2, for example.

However, you can always report other findings here and see if anyone, like myself, can help out.

In fact, I found some CD image of certain games wich works. In fact I am trying rightnow the CD version of NBA 2K (not 2k2) and it works. Also Unreal Tournament wont work on GD version, but on CD version it works.
Now, I am not sure if theese CD versions have something different, but in theese specific games, hteri are named with "(CDRES)" abbreviation.

PS: No sorry, NBA2k starts but, with audio but in black screen, and Unreal tournament doesn't start both in GD and CD format.
