Hey there everybody I really didn't know a place to put this but I think this is the right place for it. Well anyway as of lately I have been finding it hard for me to sit down and play my Dreamcast. The only systems that I have been playing are my Xbox 360 and Sega Genesis. I keep picking up games but not to play them, I just add them to my collection.
So how do I get back into playing my Dreamcast like I do my Genesis?

I Find It Hard To Play My DC
I find that that if you buy too many games in a short space of time, it can be a bit overwhelming. You've almost got too much choice and it can be difficult to just get on and concentrate on one game. I'd say you should try and sit down, take stock, pick out one game you really want to play, and then go for it.
You could also make sure your setup and environment is up to scratch, so that you can enjoy your Dreamcast to it's full potential. Make sure the fridge is full of cold beers, the phone is off the hook and you can fully concentrate on the game. Also make sure you have a nice seating position, preferably on a comfy sofa or armchair. These things matter !!
Have you got a VGA box ? If you use a monitor or HDTV with your DC, then a VGA box will enhance your viewing pleasure like nothing else and will make your DC even more gorgeous and contemporary. RF leads and composite cables should be binned immediately, they are abhorrent. If you still use a CRT tv for your Dreamcast, then make sure you have at least an S-Video or SCART lead connected.
Make sure you savour every minute of your gaming time. Enjoy the moment and keep smiling. The Dreamcast years have the potential to be the happiest time of your life.
Finally, after a good session, come back to Dreamcast-talk and tell everyone else what the experience was like. Talking about it will do you the world of good.

Re: I Find It Hard To Play My DC
Well I do need to pick up a VGA connection for my HDTV. I also need to pick up another copy of Shenmue since mine isn't working on my DC. It seems to skip while I'm playing.

Re: I Find It Hard To Play My DC
Lol! I seem to be having the opposite problem as of late. I play Dreamcast more than all of my other favorite consoles that I feel as though I've negleted them. I want to play more with my 360, Saturn, PS2 and Wii... but I always go to the Dreamcast!
It's STILL Thinking Dreamcast Channel

Re: I Find It Hard To Play My DC
I know this feeling well. I keep wanting to play Radirgy and Crows, but I want to unlock some areas in TXR2, and I want to advance in Rayman 2, and on and on. It's hard to choose! Maybe it's time to make some DC-Dice, with one genre of game on each side.. just to narrow down the choices.Neohound wrote:I find that that if you buy too many games in a short space of time, it can be a bit overwhelming. Everyone gets sick of something they love once in a while. It's natural, and it WILL happen sooner or later. I suggest putting your Dreamcast away for a while. Forget about it, and focus on other games/consoles that you're into at the moment, and those that you'd like to get into afterwards. I do this, myself, from time to time. It works.
You just need a breather.

But, by all means, don't stop buying games to add to your DC library. It makes it all that more exciting when you bring your DC back out after a long vacation.

Be sure to check out Ebay before ordering another complete Shenmue, as there are often single discs for sale at low prices. I've also seen the NTSC-U copies of Shenmue go for peanuts when the box, cover and case are damaged. One way or another you should be able to make good your present copy for just a few dollarsradtastic89 wrote: I also need to pick up another copy of Shenmue since mine isn't working on my DC.
