All four main divisions posted increases in profit.
SEGA also issued a BOLD statement to its shareholders, indicating a NEW direction for its Arcade Amusement Business:
"In the amusement machine sales business, even in the struggling market environment, the Group will seek a
broad range of users by not only providing various products from high value added items to household items that
meet user needs but also simultaneously enhancing investment efficiency for operators and securing sources of
long-term and stable earnings for the Company as a machine manufacture. "
" the Group’s challenge will be to
recover profits by strengthening management capabilities and competitiveness at its amusement centers,
acquiring new customers, and by developing new business categories besides the traditional game arcades. "
This is starting to really get interesting. Explains the absence of their E3 lineup.(It's usually up by now.)
