Megavolt is correct. I've only ever heard of people having overheating issues with PAL consoles. NTSC should be perfectly fine. I don't have a GDEMU myself but just speaking from what I've heard from others, this is indeed the case.

Thank you for the info! with this feedback I've decided I'll so some tests on my own since mine is NTSC-U so might as well not have the issue at all. I'll come back with some results in some time.

Thanks both guys!

Is it the NTSC-U mainboard that avoids the issue, or the 110V PSU? My NTSC-U Dreamcast has a 250V PSU in it (no idea where from, was in it when I got it despite the previous owner being unaware and using it with a 110V stepdown transformer) which is great as I live in a country that uses 240V so it means I can leave the original PSU in. I've fitted the GDEmu and initial testing hasn't shown up any overheating, but if I can avoid needing to mess with things further then that'd be nice. The PSU still needs recapping but that's a "one day" job.

If you are worried about over heating why not add the fan mod to your console. It's easy to do but I agree with others on here it's probably shouldn't be a problem for you. I have the dream PSU and it works great but even before the dream PSU with gdemu I never had heat related issues
